Global Time Attack is a professional time attack racing series based in America that hosts two events each year, one east coast event at Road Atlanta alongside Formula Drift and the other on the west coast at Buttonwillow for Super Lap Battle. We competed at last years Road Atlanta race with much success running a respectable 1:34 lap time around the 2.54 mile world class road course. Unfortunately our good weekend came to an abrupt halt in the second to last session of the race and going into turn 7 too fast we bit the gator, dropped a tire and spun into the tire wall at the exit of 7, tearing up the car pretty good. Fast forward a year later and the #44 SOHO Motorsports Time Attack G35 was not just fixed (just some body damage) but rebuilt better than ever with us addressing every component from the chassis to engine to turbo system to suspension to livery and everything else in an effort to make one of the best Limited RWD cars in the country. The entire rebuild process is documented in detail on our drivers blog here -http://kparlettracing.blogspot.com After a long year of rebuilding and preparing the #44 SOHO Motorsports Time Attack G35 for the 2013 season she was finally finished and ready to race just in time for the 2013 Global Time Attack race this past May 10-11th. We unfortunately didn’t get time to test the car before GTA so the weekend would essentially be a shakedown run for G35 since it hadn’t seen any track time and our driver Kevin Parlett hadn’t driven the car since the wreck, but we were excited nonetheless. Along with the return of the #44 car we also had our customer and friend Steve Ruyan driving his #88 SOHO Motorsports Street Rwd Nissan 350Z in his first time attack appearance, making the SOHO pit full with a two car team for the first time. The 2013 Global Time Attack race weekend at Road Atlanta was a blast! We got to see a bunch of friends, fans, sponsors and GTA family that we hadn’t seen in a while and other than a few new car blues we had a successful weekend shaking down the #44 car and the #88 car. Instead of going into a long winded spiel about how the weekend went check out Kevin's blog post that breaks down the entire weekend in great detail from the rebuild of the past year to his Thursday interview with Moto IQ Radio on behalf of SOHO to our shakedown on Friday and Steve's success on Saturday, all of it can be found here - http://kparlettracing.blogspot.com/2013/05/global-time-attack-2013-rd-1-at-road.html
