Daniel contacted us towards the later part of 2016 in regards to having his custom widebody Nissan 350Z built to match the looks of the vehicle. His target horsepower goal was 800 to 1000 horsepower at the crank. With a long history with imports including a 1400 horsepower supra that he owned when he was younger, we knew we had a big task to accomplish. However, with the people and services that we offer,we knew we could accomplish this goal for Daniel. In order to reach the horsepower goal we selected our Stage 2 single turbo kit along with our Stage 3 engine package that many people know because of David's monster drag/half-mile Infiniti G35. With the success we have had with Ignite racing fuel and ethanol's ability to keep the engine cooler and make more power, we decided to use Ignite's 114 E90 fuel to be able to hit our target. We incorporated one millimeter oversized valves,a Kelford valvetrain, Kelford camshafts and serious porting/polishing of the heads as the key components of this engine build in order to get the most out of our Stage 2 turbo kit. With the engine and transmission mated and ready to be installed into the vehicle, we installed our Stage 2 single turbo kit that includes larger diameter hot side piping, larger wastegate, larger turbo and a significantly larger intercooler. An often overlooked part of a serious engine build is the cooling system. Since we were shooting for almost three times the power that the vehicle came with stock, we would be upgrading all of the coolant components with Mishimoto products which would include radiator, hoses, coolant, and higher capacity fans. The stock rear end was not going to be able to handle the additional power that this vehicle would be producing, so a Quaiffe differential along with our new Billet differential housing were installed. All of the stock rear arms were replaced with SPL components and the stock axles were upgraded to the Driveshaft shop level 5 axles. No stone was left unturned as Daniel wanted to make sure that nothing was overlooked which included the coilover setup. The Tein basic coilovers are great coilovers but were not going to be able to handle the amount of squat that this vehicle was seeing when in boost so an upgrade here was required as well. . We were seeing almost two to three inces of travel when the vehicle was strapped down on the dyno in low boost and with the 12 inch wheels and widebody that were on this vehicle we knew that we would run into an issue. We had to remove almost two inches from the inside fender to allow for the tire to fully travel and not rub on the bodywork, which can be seen in the picture above. Along with the body work, we had to contact Stance coilovers to build a custom XR1 coilover with an extended body length and the use of swift springs to allow us to raise the vehicle higher then stock setting to accommodate the travel that we were seeing. Brakes were the next thing that would need to be upgraded as the stock Brembos were not going to be able to keep up with what the vehicle would be asking for when it came time to stop from a wide open pull. The Akebono big brake kit was choosen along with upgraded Carbotech brake pads, slotted rotors, stainless steel brake lines and Motul RBF 600 brake fluid. Fueling this monster would require the CJM dual fuel pump assembly along with 1700cc Injector Dynamics injectors and a custom CJM fuel return system. Being able to monitor all of the vitals of the motor while driving is a very important aspect and so we incorporated a custom triple gauge pod with an Innovate oil pressure gauge, Innovate 4-1 (fuel pressure, fuel temperature, ethanol content, air fuel ration), and a Turbosmart E-boost 2. Daniel wanted to make a small change to the look of the car, so a very rare Top secret hood was installed along with the Aerocatch hood pins prior to the dyno.
